Reasonability and you...

So, say I were to make an untoward remark about Yech fans, or the Cheeto-heads in Knoxville. Say these remarks incited much swearing, gnashing of teeth, and burning in effigy. Say I apologise for these untoward remarks, truly, madly, and deeply. Is the proper response to this apology to:

A) Accept the apology and move on with your life?
B) Not accept the apology, and harbor many bad feelings towards me and my bretheren?

or,

C) Demand that I immediately leave the Holy House of Sanford and redecorate in either puke orange or puke yellow?

Apparrently, if you're Mohammed Gaddafi, son of Lybian 'leader' Muammar Gaddafi, C is the only obvious choice.

But it's a religion of tolerance and peace...

As one of the "cheeto heads" (Grrrrrr), I'm thinkin' "B"
I'll never call for your assassination or even resignation, but we all know the close relationship between the SEC and long-held grudges.
Why can't we all just get along and agree to hate Florida?

paT, through all the myriad amusing things spewed forth over the years by the likes of Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and their ilk, I've never once heard one of them suggest that the proper apology to offending one of them is to immediately convert to their side...

Are you kidding? Those calls for conversion are the cornerstone of those two particular ass clowns' schticks. And that's before they got to the part about America deserving what it got on 9/11, or calling for the assassination of sitting world leaders, or that Katrina hit New Orleans to punish homosexuals because people don't convert...

And thems is just the tip of the iceberg. Let's face it, there are a lot of people on this planet who just aren't very good people. Somehow, many of these individuals parlay themselves a few minutes in front of some TV camera, radio microphone or newspaper column. I'd say 90% of such people wrap themselves in religion or some other ideology to feed their particular cult of personality and sell their particular brand of bull.

The 'offended overreaction' doesn't surprise me one bit. That just seems to be a fact of life these days. From the Mel Gibson incident to Sooner Schooner Meltdown.

I've never seen so many people actually offended by other people who go by the nicknames Mad Max and Quack Attack.

But I guess all those overreactions, including death threats over a game, couldn't be coming from anyone who considers themselves part of a 'religion of peace'...

apologies make no difference to us.

Kinda suspected that. But, on the other hand, trying to convert others it better than assassination, beheading, crashing planes into building, etc.

Now, about that Cheeto-head remark, REPENT!

Yes but typically you hear an awful lot from detractors local to the a-clowns. There are plenty of Americans standing up and saying that Mr. Robertson and Mr. Falwell do not represent the views of the entire nation. Where are the Libyians (did I spell that right?) voicing their objections to this guy? If the detractors are going to hide from the issue don't be surprised when other folks don't know those detractors exist. If you know of some Libyians (or anyone else in the vicinity for that matter) voicing their concerns over Gaddafi's comments, I'd love to see them.

"Now, about that Cheeto-head remark, REPENT!"

Never. Until Tennessee picks a color that you would actually see someone wear out in public for non-sporting events, such a remark is completely justified. There are just that few bright orange things around that Cheeto is a natural association. At least you have a virtual monopoly on school-colored emergency ponchos and hunting jackets.

Come on, y'all, orange is the new black :0)

Hey, orange is a great color! Football on Saturday, hunting on Sunday, road crew the rest of the week. :-)

AND, I'd have a blue tick hound over a bulldog any day!!
