United in Celebration

There will be many, many things written about Saturday's SEC Championship Game. Alabama downed Florida in perhaps the biggest and most anticipated college football showdown in years.

Luckily, there is only one SECCG wrap up you need to read, as Doug Gillet at Hey, Jenny Slater! brings you covereage of V-T Day from Atlanta.

Prepare yourselves, fellow New Orleanians, for the last battle of the four year struggle will be fought on Poydras Street on New Year's.

You need to talk about UGA's loss to UK. What's it like? I can't remember. It's been 25 years since the Vols experience such shame.

Oh, us losing to UK is old hat. Please see also 2006. Luckily, their fans are so used to losing to UGA that they appreciate every single win for what it is: an abberation.

It stings, a bit, but not as much as watching the Wildcats come within 3-8 points of knocking off the Volunteers every. fracking. year.

I count at least two SECCG's where UGA would have gone (2004, 2007) had Kentucky (or South Carolina, or Vandy) been able to kick a field goal.

Cost us a shot at the National Championship Game in 2007 (IMHO).
