Off-Season Football Rant

Reporters really have to learn not to get into it with football coaches. Mark Richt is not to be trifled with.

For those of you who need the backstory, please see also this and this.

And since I am a Dawg Fan in Tigerland, forced to deal with the alternate universe of a land populated by LSU fans, I also submit this link for your due consideration.

My son is having spring practice this week and next. I get excited. We're looking forward to a great senior season for him. He's about 6' 3.5" and 275 lbs now and strong. One of his common nicknames in "Beast," not "The Beast," just "Beast."

He's getting looks from quite a few schools but most are not SEC level schools but close. The ones that excite me the most are Brown, Columbia and Cornell. Can you imagine going to an Ivy League school for free? He has a 3.75 GPA that just might could get him in too.

Those schools are pretty far away though. Most of the others are within a days drive. We're trying to get Vanderbilt interested in him. Having a Vanderbilt degree would be huge.

You ain't kiddin. But after that video you posted of him a while back, I'm surprised his nickname is only "Beast."

At those dimensions in high school and that GPA, if Vandy don't give him a call, they're doin it wrong.
